At a glimpse

The logistics park, featuring two warehouses and forty ramps for unloading operations, accommodates multiple tenants who lease specific ramp quantities alongside warehouse space, while incoming trucks are directed to the unloading terminal upon arrival.

Challenge

During this project, we encountered several challenges that required careful attention. Firstly, it was crucial to prevent the accumulation of cargo trucks at the unloading ramps to ensure smooth operations. Secondly, we aimed to streamline and maximize the efficiency of the unloading process to facilitate seamless workflow. These challenges demanded innovative solutions and meticulous planning to ensure the successful implementation of the project.

Solution

To address the first challenge, we implemented a comprehensive solution that ensures the efficient flow of trucks at the unloading ramps. Each tenant is required to pre-register the number of trucks expected to arrive and input their registration numbers into the system.

Upon truck arrival, the system operates under two scenarios: If there is an available ramp belonging to the respective tenant, the system displays its number and directs the truck to it. In case all ramps are occupied, the digital display instructs trucks to proceed to the waiting parking area within the complex. This designated waiting area provides visibility to drivers as they await ramp availability.

Furthermore, to improve efficiency, sensors installed on each ramp promptly label them as “occupied” once a truck arrives, enabling real-time monitoring of ramp availability. These solutions collectively streamline the unloading process, alleviating congestion, and enhancing overall efficiency within the logistics park.

Result

The SmartPark team successfully overcame the logistics challenges by implementing our parking management system. Our solution efficiently regulated truck arrivals, preventing congestion, and optimized unloading processes, ensuring smooth operations and increased efficiency.
